OS Crash When Receiving Illegal Program – If a external editor is used to set certain program parameters to out-of-range values, the program could crash the ION. Alesis IonMicron Firmware 1.06 has been fixed.

C. FEATURE UPDATES AND ENHANCEMENTS

“Arp Send MIDI” Global Parameter – A new global parameter allows notes generated by the arpeggiator to be sent out through MIDI. When on, locally-played keys in an arpeggiated program generate MIDI data for each note. Received MIDI data always plays individual notes.

Knobs Can Send MIDI CCs – The “Panel Send MIDI” global parameter has a new option, “on – cc”. When on, knobs send MIDI continuous controller messages instead of NRPNs. Both NRPNs and CCs can always be received, regardless of this setting.

Send Sysex Request – ION now accepts MIDI-based requests to send out programs and setups as MIDI sysexes.

Alesis IonMicron Firmware 1.06 is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
