HP Hitachi Ultrastar SAS HDD Firmware HPH3 Rev.A package provides a firmware upgrade that is specifically designed for Hitachi Ultrastar 15K300 15,000-rpm Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Hard Drives in the supported workstation models running a supported operating system.
NOTE: The following drive model strings and firmware revision levels, which are visible with most drive inquiry tools, correspond to the drives for which this upgrade is applicable:

- Hitachi HUS153073VL300, HPH2
- Hitachi HUS153014LV300, HPH2
- Hitachi HUS153030VL300, HPH2

HP does not recommend trying to apply this firmware package to drives other than those identified in the preceding list.

This package contains files that are intended to be used with a DOS bootable USB Key Drive. A utility is included that will make a USB Key Drive DOS bootable. The USB Key Drive will contain all the necessary files to update the identified hard drives.


FIXES:
- Fixes a drive not recoginized issue that may occur when certain Hitachi SAS Hard Drives are connected to LSI non-RAID SAS Controllers and the system is running the Microsoft Windows XP x64 Edition Operating System.

PREREQUISITES:
- Minimum 6-MB USB Key drive.

CAUTION: All data on the USB Key drive will be deleted when the bootable media is created.
