HP LSI Logic 3041e Controller Driver 1.27.03.00 Rev.B package contains the serial attached SCSI (SAS) controller driver for the supported workstation models running the Microsoft Windows XP Professional Operating System.
NOTE: This package supports only SAS hard drives for the HP xw4400 Workstation, HP xw6400 Workstation, HP xw4600 Workstation, and HP xw6600 Workstation models.

ENHANCEMENTS:
- Provides a Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) certified driver for use with LSI Logic 3041e SAS RAID Firmware version 1.25.03.

PREREQUISITES:
- HP SoftPaq Number SP41484, LSI Logic 3041e SAS RAID Firmware and BIOS Utility is also required with this SoftPaq. HP SoftPaq Number SP41484 can be downloaded from the HP website.

NOTE: Both SoftPaqs are required for supported operations; however, there is no requirement about the order in which they are downloaded and installed.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the file by clicking the Download or Obtain Software button and saving the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where the downloaded file is saved).

2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. Note the location where the SoftPaq contents are extracted (the default is C:SWSETUPSP41486).

NOTE: After the files have been unpacked, the SoftPaq .EXE file downloaded in Step 1 can be deleted, if desired.

UPDATING THE DRIVER
To update the driver, complete the following steps:

1. Open Device Manager (click Control Panel, then click System, then click Hardware, and then click Device Manager).

2. Click the plus sign (+) for the SCSI and RAID controllers entry.

3. Click LSI Adapter, SAS 3000 series, 4-port with 1064 to highlight HP LSI Logic 3041e Controller Driver 1.27.03.00 Rev.B.

4. Open the device properties (click Action and then click Properties).

5. From the Drivers tab, update the driver by browsing to the location of the extracted SoftPaq files.

6. If prompted, restart (reboot) the workstation.

NOTE: After the installation is complete, the download directory can be deleted, if desired.
